PROJECT
Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) plans to build a new refinery, Al-Zour Refinery Project (ZOR), with a refining capacity of 615,000 barrels per day, located approximately 90 km south of Kuwait City, to supply both the domestic and world market demand for ultra-low sulfur petroleum products. In addition, elemental sulfur and middle distillates will be produced for offshore export. The ZOR will be located in the southern coastal region of Kuwait.
The engineering, procurement, and construction of the ZOR Project are divided geographically into five major EPC Contract Packages.
The HSS JV is responsible for engineering, procurement, construction and pre-commissioning for Package 5 consisting of the installation of a complete marine export terminal facility (MTF) for transfer and exporting of solid and liquid products into bulk carriers and tankers
PROJECT DETAIL
Unit 85: Solids Pier
A solids pier for sulfur export is required. The solids pier is a shore-connected marine structure that facilitates safe and reliable mooring and loading of solid product to ocean-going bulk carriers. This facility provides space and support for ship loading equipment, conveyors, auxiliary equipment, utilities, equipment for control of loading and shipping operations, and access to these same facilities.
Our Project is the Solids Pier Operations (SPO) Building of Unit 85 (also called “Building 85-B-01”, or “Module 85-B-01”, or “SPO Building 85”) to be installed on Solids Pier Utility Platform (Utility Platform) of the ZOR project.
