THE SCOPE
ASSENTS scope of work to provide Connection Design, Fabrication and Installation of Structural Steel for Roof Structure & Façade Supports. In addition, the scope also includes the design, supply & fixing of pot bearings. The Steel Structure is protected with intumescent fireproofing.
THE PROJECT
Dubai Arena at City Walk is a new, state-of-the-art multi-purpose arena spanning an area of half-a-million square feet with an approximate capacity of 20,000. Dubai Arena is set to enhance Dubai’s leisure and entertainment offering and become the ‘go to’ venue for large-scale international music concerts and sporting events. Dubai Arena will be the only all-purpose indoor air-conditioned arena of its size in the entire region and will boast an advanced infrastructure allowing it to accommodate mega-events.
CHALLENGE AND SUCCESS FACTORS
The Roof Structure has had oversized Steel Trusses were transported by means of Dolly Trucks from the Factory to site as several parts and assembled at the site as per the project specification by using trained and certified welders and fabrications team by ASSENT.
Self-propelled modular transporter (SPMT’s) were used for Super Truss Maneuvering and kicker bracing has been used to reduce the buckling length.
Supper Trusses spans 120m & weighs 800 T each has been lifted & erected as a single lift from outside of the arena by using 1,600 T & 1,400 T capacity of crawler cranes simultaneously.
