A holistic and unique sports and leisure destination for the City of Abu Dhabi
The plot allocated for the Velodrome is at the centre of the West of the island and adjacent to an outdoor BMX track and cycle track. The mobility spine is integrated and run continuous between connection points. It is intended for Abu Dhabi to being classified as a UCI Bike City. Increasing sporting options will attract international cycling teams to Abu Dhabi and by building a UCI Category 1 Velodrome would also give Abu Dhabi the opportunity to host one of the six rounds of the annual UCI World Cycling Cup or UCI World Championships.
Ramboll
Ramboll has appointed as the Detail Design Consultant for the Facade package, The Building has unique design for Fins all around in Elliptical shape and is having Aluminium Mullion and Transom profiles with vision and Spandrel glass for the complete facade to cover the Building. The Facade also has unique sawtooth cladding within facade area. As the BIM LOD300 requirement, Tekla performed fantastic output in terms of profile shape and size compared to other market lead design/Modelling software. As to the project BEP, Parameters like Design and Assets was satisfied with workflow between Tekla Structures and Autodesk Revit software.Â
