THE PROJECTÂ
Yamama Saudi Cement Company project consists of two turnkey cement production lines with a total capacity of 20,000 tpd. The main components include two mobile primary crushers for limestone (each 1800 tph throughput), three crushers for additives (each 500 tph), two crushers for correctives (each 100 tph), as well as two circular blending beds for limestone, each with a capacity of 80,000 t and various additive storage facilities. Four QUADROPOLÂ QMR2 roller mills with a throughput of 425 tph and two 35,000 t capacity homogenizing silos will be used to grind and store the raw material.

The new lines are scheduled to start operation in 2018.

AIC took the largest share of tonnage comparing to the other participating companies and its scope was preparation of shop drawings, fabrication and delivery of steel equipment (Piping, Cyclone parts, Stack, etc.) including surface treatment and corrosion protection drawings, delivery of all non-metal elements (packing cords and fiberglass cords, seals, etc.) & Trial-assembly of some equipment.
CHALLENGE AND SUCCESS FACTOR
The main challenge was that the model was created by us from scratch depending on client drawings only and it wasn't a straight normal duct but inclined in all 3 dimensions. Also, the creating of unfolded plates and fully detailed fabrication drawings.
The project was successful due to a high experience of the detailing section head, checkers and detailers in addition to the trials made by the workshop for rolled and bent plates.

WHY TEKLA
Using Tekla software make it much easier and faster than any other software because of all its features (modeling, detailing, CNC files and reports). Special recognition for the very useful connections (rectangle to circle (17) and Unfold surface (21)) which led to creating perfect modeling and drawings direction.
