The existing facility is comprised of grandstands along the Frontstretch that total approximately 101,000 seats. The project scope includes demolition of a majority of the Frontstretch seating, grandstand framing, shallow foundations, and the Sprint Tower. New construction to upgrade and increase the size of the grandstands will include deep foundations, steel structure, replacement of the Sprint Tower, and seating to accommodate approximately 103,500 new Frontstretch seats. Concessions, toilets, upgraded fan amenities, and associated site work are also part of the scope. An important element of the Project will be an approach that will phase the construction activities to accommodate the annual Daytona 500 races and the summer Coke Zero races. During the construction phase a minimum of 101,000 seat capacity will be maintained without the use of any temporary seating arrangements.
