The New Sussex Central High School is an additional facility to the current Sussex Central High School. Â The building will be 300,000 square feet and serve 2,200 students. Â This will be one of the largest school complexes in Sussex County and the state. The projected time frame for this project is the end of August 2025.
IDS does the detailing of all structural framing using Tekla software.

Challenges and achievements
The renumbering of the model in the middle of the project because of a change in phasing and the need to update to reflect the correct numbering or mark; the time-consuming process of identifying and resolving clashes, changes in design, and the transition from Fabtrol to Tekla EPM on the customer’s end.

Using Tekla software
By using Tekla Structures, the detailer was able to provide accurate shop drawings and data files to the shop, helping stakeholders visualize the project more realistically, and making it easier to identify potential issues or areas for improvement. It is also used in facilitating collaboration and communication throughout the construction process.
