The PUCE building in Ambato is an emblematic structure located in the city of Ambato, Ecuador. This project consists of two basements for parking and nine floors for classrooms and administrative offices, with a construction area of 12727 m2.
The building is made of steel with a weight of 960 tons, and is composed of box columns, main and secondary beams type “I”, welded and high frequency welding respectively. To resist seismic forces, it has a dual system, consisting of a concrete core and concentric inverted “V” braces.
