The proposed Market Hall Stage Two works for Robina Town Centre includes approximately 14,000 sqm of additional floor area, increasing its retail capacity by almost 10%. This increase is made up of high end specialty retail tenancies, a new Coles supermarket, an upmarket food precinct and significant additional car parks. In order to maintain Robina Town Centre’s reputation as a high quality centre, international architects were engaged in a concept role to design a complex new roof, awning and entry to the southern facade. This proposed design will provide a significant new identity to the southern approach to the centre.

As with previous extensions and refurbishments to Robina Town Centre, the proposed works involve the complex integration of new and existing services, infrastructure and built elements. These works presented challenges which were managed to ensure the works were performed as efficiently as possible without impacting on existing tenants, centre visitors and RTC management. As such, a thorough understanding of the existing centre, combined with a detailed design process was critical to the success of the project. The co-ordination between the architectural, structural and steel design consultants ensured the intergration of new and old was a success.
