ATA (AMEC – TEKFEN –AZFEN Consortium) have been awarded a contract for the construction of Shah Deniz Phase 2.
The Project comprises two decks that are SDB-PR a production and risers platform and SDB-QU a quarters and utilities platform, which are linked by a bridge unit.
Part of the ATA scope is to take third party (KBR) structural design drawings and convert them into detailed engineering drawings to realize the construction work and also ensure that comprehensive records are kept of material allocation, weld identification and None Destructive Examination etc.
During the execution of detailed engineering within the ATA was to use standard Autocad software which has been the Industry standard for this type of work for many years. Â
The detail engineering was performed out of country as in the previous projects. This time is decided to be done within the country source by AZFEN J.V. (SOCAR & TEKFEN) which is the local company of the Consortium. AZFEN is therefore responsible for the detail Engineering & has decided to use Tekla Structures by the proposal of the experienced Tekla Users due to high requirements of the structural Works throughout the Project. Â
