Whitmore Street is a 17,500sqm building being developed for Bank of New Zealand.
Key resilience features are diagrid structure that is base isolated designed to avoid structural damage in a 1 in 500 year earthquake. The building will span a full city block, be highly efficient and designed to achieve a NZGBC 5 Green Star rating.
The geometry of the structure, which included curved sections was a major challenge. Teamwork was the biggest factor in our success. The use of IFC models enabled rapid and accurate checking by the consultants.
