Trimble Education Outreach at TalTech, Estonia
Trimble has been supporting BIM education for many years in a variety of ways. In 2014, Trimble Singapore partnered with the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) to sponsor a scholarship as a first-of-its-kind in Singapore helping students studying construction technology. Beginning in 2018, Trimble’s Espoo office, serving Finland and Baltic countries, has sponsored a scholarship at Tallinn University of Technology (TalTech) in Estonia. The scholarship is provided to a top student in the School of Engineering at Taltech, whose study is related to construction.
Trimble Finland/Baltics 2019 Scholarship
This year, the Trimble Scholarship selection from TalTech has been finalized and it is granted to Risto Häelme. Trimble found his thesis work, “Building process management analysis and quality assurance principles implementation in BIM model”, very inspiring and encourages young engineers to seek and develop ways to implement BIM processes using truly constructible models on site. Congratulations to Risto on his €1500 scholarship!
Student group visit
Recently a delegation of TalTech students and alumni from the School of Engineering visited the Trimble Finland headquarters in Espoo. The students are interested in our technology solutions used primarily in civil engineering. After an intensive Tekla modeling training session organized by Trimble and the construction company CES Estonia, they spent a day learning more about Tekla software and Trimble.
Various presentations about Tekla software, including industrial use and software development, and other Trimble technologies were introduced to enrich students’ understanding of some of the most relevant technologies used in BIM today.
