This year’s UK Tekla awards ceremony took place on Friday 6th September at Roxy Ballroom in Leeds, with a day of activities, competition, and good grub.

An annual tradition, we welcomed the start of autumn with the UK Tekla awards ceremony, celebrating some of the best examples of projects our customers have to offer. Among the guests were delegates from BHC, Kilnbridge, Taziker, Billington Structures, and William Hare.

As the event began, Chris Wilson, senior sales director at Trimble, gave a few words to delegates, “It’s nice to have a diverse group of engineers, contractors, and fabricators here. We’re going to be covering a whole range of projects across the commercial, small public sector, infrastructure, hospitals, stations, power stations, even a rollercoaster in the awards! It’s a pleasure to welcome and thank our valued customers.”

What is it like to take part in the UK Tekla Awards?

We chatted to customer Taziker and asked how they felt about being recipients of a UK Tekla award.

Speaking about the project, Ben Kirkpatrick, draughtsman at Taziker said, “winning a Tekla award is the highest gratuity in the business – I can’t ask for anymore. When we first started on site, the point cloud was critical to getting this project over the line, then using the Rhino or Grasshopper script to do the actual geometry of the project, as well as then using Tekla to get the fabrication drawings into place.”

It’s a great opportunity for award winners to get together and network, as well as meet those within Trimble responsible for developing Tekla’s software.
