Chase Center is an 18,000 seat sports and multi-purpose entertainment arena in Mission Bay, San Francisco. The Chase Center is on schedule to be completed for the 2019/2020 NBA season and will be the home of the Golden State Warriors. Once complete the stadium will offer state of the art amenities, two commercial office buildings and impeccable views of the San Francisco bay. The design takes inspiration from the rich nautical history of the bay area.
We were engaged by SME Steel Contractors who have significant experience in fabrication and erection of large and complex projects. Our scope included design assist and 3D modelling and steel detailing of of primary and secondary structural steel for the arena bowl and roof.
The design assist scope involved 3D Stick modelling and design development of non-standard special connections in conjunction with SME Steel and the engineering team from Magnusson Klemencic Associates (MKA). Working from 2D sketches from engineer we developed 3D connections in Tekla software for design review.
