Our project is a vent cooler for a heat exchanger at a cement plant in Union Bridge, MD. The structure features two sections, an inner one and outer one. The The inner structure houses a heat removal system and the outer structure supports the cooling duct and outer pipes that carry the air into the cooling system. There is also a structure housing a stairwell for access to the heat removal system. This is our first Tekla Project, and it is still a work in progress. Throughout this experience, we have encountered obstacles such as becoming familiar with the Tekla interface and properly using its features. The lack of compatibility between CAD files for our project caused difficulty in beam placement. Although this is our first project, we are enjoying the learning curve of using an advanced software.
