In the last decade, ESI has executed over 1,000 MW of power generation and/or steam generation equivalent projects in the utility and industrial sectors throughout North America. We have executed systems that generate power using steam turbines, combustion turbines, and reciprocating engines; and steam generation systems utilizing package boilers, HRSGs, and both fluidized bed and grate fired power boilers. Job Description

ESI is seeking a talented Senior Structural Steel Designer to join our team in Kennesaw, Georgia. This position requires five to fifteen years of experience as a Structural Steel Designer in a heavy industrial environment. The following are the responsibilities of this position:

  • Prepare design drawings to facilitate timely and cost-effective construction of structural steel systems
  • Collaborate with project civil/structural engineers throughout the design process
  • Review structural steel drawings for errors and omissions
  • Review project contract documents throughout the project to ensure compliance
  • Review vendor drawings for errors and omissions and to ensure contract compliance
  • Assist in preparing the drawing list, estimating man-hours, etc., at the kick-off of each project
  • Attend weekly project meetings to review design and project progress
  • Establish the project working agenda for each week
  • Coordinate with mechanical and electrical engineers and designers on project design
  • Review and update CAD Standards as needed to ensure accuracy and efficiency
  • Participate in company-wide CAD Meetings
  • Travel to the field as needed throughout the duration of the project (approximately 5-10%)

Preferred Knowledge & Qualifications

  • Five to fifteen years of structural steel design experience
  • Experience designing and drafting structural steel systems in a heavy industrial environment
  • Knowledge of industry codes and standards
  • Proficient with the latest version of AutoCAD Software
  • Proficient with the latest version of Tekla 3D Software
  • Experience with the latest version of AutoCAD Plant 3D is a PLUS
  • Specific experience working for an EPC Company involved in steam and power projects would be a PLUS

Salary: $80,000 - $120,000/year

Work Location: Kennesaw, GA (ESI employees have the option to work a hybrid schedule which includes three office days and two remote days.)
