2016 North American BIM Awards - Liquid Natural Gas

The LNG Tank in Corpus Christi, TX used Tekla Structures for rebar estimating, detailing and construction coordination. Commercial Metal Company modeled piping, formwork ties, post tensioning cables and anchors, rebar and embeds. The rebar was managed per each tank lift and used the cast unit technology to generate assembly drawings so the rebar could be tied and flown into its final position to save time during the wall erection.
