2016 North American BIM Awards - Lucas Osco

Approx. 53 tons of structural steel, misc. metals, & hoppers.

The openings at the bottom of the hoppers were not centered. Laying out construction points and using contour plates made the layout of the hoppers much easier.

Using Tekla makes layoing out odd shapes much easier and using BIM, Lucas Corporation was able to let the engineer and fabricator review the hopper configurations prior to completing them. This saved a lot of time versus having to revise them after approval.
