Section property calculators

It's not uncommon for projects to require unique structural solutions, forcing the engineer to think outside the box and occasionally utilize a custom structural section. To complete the analysis & design however, section properties for the custom structural section are required - which is where the Section Properties Calculator in Tekla Tedds can come in handy. The module calculates the section properties of a section constructed from rectangles, triangles and circles, with or without holes. The calculated section properties are then returned to the Tedds document as variables for use in further calculations. Section properties computed include: area, 2nd moment of area, radius of gyration, plastic section modulus, distance to combined centroid, distance to equal axis area, and elastic section modulus.
