10 Fenchurch Avenue is a new 15-storey building in the heart of the City of London designed by Eric Parry Architects with CORE acting as Development Manager on behalf of Generali.
When opened, the building will offer circa 60,000m2 of office and retail space and will include a stylish restaurant at the penultimate level and a unique, publicly-accessible roof garden - a landscaped space with wisteria-entwined, galvanised steel pergola structures and stunning views across the city. Arup has provided structural engineering, geotechnical engineering and security services for the new development and acted as contract administrator for the demolition of the six buildings that previously occupied the site.
Demolition commenced in August 2014 and completed in July 2015, with the exception of one building which had to remain occupied and was demolished later. Sir Robert McAlpine gained possession of the site in July 2015 and commenced piling and excavation works. Topping-out was achieved in September 2017 and practical completion for the retail and office floors (excluding the roof garden and public realm) was achieved in January 2018. The roof garden and public realm works are expected to finish in May 2018. The fit out of the office and retail floors is underway, with completion expected at the end of 2018.
