A large fire broke out at Battersea Arts Centre on Friday 13 March 2015 which destroyed much of the building. The building originally opened in 1893 as Battersea Town Hall, it was converted to an arts centre in 1974 and was given a Victorian Grade II* listed building status.
The fire swept through the Grand and Lower hall of the arts centre but miraculously the front half of the building including the front hall were saved from the blaze. The renovation of the building began in Ernest. What TDS have been tasked to do is to model new roof trusses made of steel to support the new roof and tower of the Grand hall.
