A large commercial and residential development set on the West Bank of the River Lea. A mixed used development that encompasses, shopping, social areas, and living apartments.
The project is made from precast units that are faced with brick slips to provide a traditional looking build that is hung from an insitu frame.
Aligned arcing facade and bricks
The projects main challenge was to align the precast brick facade with the traditional build lower levels. The precast elements started at 2nd floor and thus had to align perfectly to match the layout below. I'm most proud of the way the arcing facade and bricks align as they circle up and step up the building. Each brick was made from a single custom component and built up in the 3D space manually. BIM collaboration was used to work around all the terrace steel work and insitu framing.
