The UK Police Memorial commemorates the sacrifice of all who have dedicated their lives to policing. SH Structures were appointed as Principal Contractor and were involved in delivering the complete project.
About the project
The new memorial is formed from a weathering steel frame which creates, with it's perforated brass panel, a doorway or threshold. This design was developed by artist Walter Jack. The development of the perforated panel with its gilded leaf shaped cut-outs and the connections to the frame was achieved through close collaboration with the team. The leaf shaped elements removed from the panel have been engraved and presented to families of the officers who have fallen in service.
Tekla enabled this collaboration to be more efficient with the ease of the exchange of digital information across the team making a huge difference. This was a very special project which took many years to come to fruition.
