Zip Wire Towers is a release platform and landing platform for a Zip Wire in Lowry Shopping Centre. Along with a bush telegraph and climbing wall attraction.
The project is special because of the combination of architectural imagination, theme designers skills and structural design coming together.
What were the challenges and what made the project successful?
The difficult challenge was sometimes the language barrier and different codes with international colleagues as well as having such a huge design team. The project was successful with help of an excellent steel fabricator and a good project manager to liaise with.
Huge benefits to using BIM/Tekla, the design team were able to use Trimble Connect to keep up with design and feedback, we were able to export to TSD and were able to produce large numbers of fabrication drawing efficiently.
